End of Life Education
Empowerment through knowledge and wisdom
As an end-of-life educator, I'm dedicated to demystifying death and dying, inviting open conversations, and giving individuals and families the knowledge they need to navigate the dying process with confidence and peace.
Learn more about the end of life
Knowledge is empowering. My goal is to provide clear, compassionate, and practical education that helps individuals and families feel more prepared and at peace when facing end-of-life situations. In American society, death is often a subject that is avoided, leading to fear, anxiety, and unpreparedness. Let's work together to build a community where end-of-life literacy is the norm, not the exception. By learning about end-of-life processes, options, and best practices, we can:
Reduce fear and anxiety surrounding death
Make more informed decisions about our care and legacy
Better support loved ones through their end-of-life journey
Create more meaningful and peaceful transitions
Foster a healthier relationship with mortality
I offer educational workshops and seminars about:
Grief Myths
Spirituality at the End of Life
Grief: Its Value for a Happy Life
Embracing the Circle of Life
Walking Each Other Home
See the descriptions below and contact me to discuss how topics like bereavement, end-of-life education, caregiver support, self-care, or other subjects can benefit you or your organization. I’m available on Zoom and in person.

Walking Each Other Home - Tagore Radinith suggested, “Death belongs to life as death does, the walk is in the raising of the foot as the laying it down.” Imagine the impact if we, as spiritual caregivers and leaders, fully embraced our own mortality. By doing so, we can live more authentically and impart a message of genuine presence and empowerment to those we guide.
Kind Words
“It’s been my privilege and honor to have known Joy for many years. I have witnessed her many times as a guest speaker in churches I have attended. Her talks have always been inspiring and uplifting, and have given me something to think about for the following days. I have witnessed her officiating a funeral for someone she knew and someone she didn’t know personally but knew the family. I recently witnessed Joy perform an ‘anointing’ for a friend who was very close to making her transition. This was a very moving yet very comforting experience for the assembled family and friends.
I participated in a ‘Best Three Months’ workshop that Joy facilitated. Her skills in facilitating the group to openly discuss and talk about personal feelings was remarkable. Each individual was sincerely acknowledged and honored for participating. There was a high level of trust and respect that was evident even through the technology of Zoom.
Joy is a very compassionate and understanding listener. She brings years of pastoral care experience plus her own life experiences to the present situation with a ‘knowing’ that is palatable to the recipient and observer. In other words, Joy is the real thing!
On a personal note, I have asked Joy to officiate my “celebration of life.” I wanted someone who not only knew me but could convey compassionate comfort and assurance. Joy is definitely that person! Thank you, Joy!”
Gratefully, Marion Wright.
