Hi, I’m Joy
I am privileged to serve as a hospice bereavement coordinator daily and have also been honored to serve as a hospital chaplain, hospice chaplain, and Grief Recovery Specialist. My inspired work is due to the legacy of my Great-Great Grandmother, whose footsteps I followed to become an ordained minister. I am more spiritual than religious and enjoy connecting with and supporting others in ways that genuinely resonate with their beliefs and personal journeys.

The hummingbird is a symbol of love, joy, and beauty. Its unique ability to fly backward teaches us that we can reflect on our past and still move forward. The hummingbird's remarkable skill to hover while drinking nectar reminds us to cherish every moment and enjoy its sweetness to the fullest.
My story is inspired by a lineage of strong, loving women, like my Great-Great Grandmother, whose legacy I carry forward as an ordained minister. Yet, my ministry manifests itself in the spaces between us, in the shared moments of joy, sorrow, and transition.
I serve through presence rather than processes. Deep listening is truly listening to the stories, wishes, and dreams of those I serve. Whether I'm creating a ceremony to celebrate love or honor a well-lived life, my inspiration comes from the lives that have touched me.
